Celebrating a Century of Progress for Women ~ Recognizing Women Pioneers, Leaders, and Innovators
Women's Policy, Inc. (WPI)
1999 Awards Dinner
The awards dinner honored the Congressional Caucus for Women's Issues with emcee, Carole Simpson, ABC-News and Mary Fisher, Dr. Dorothy Height, Donna Shirley, and Carole Simpson. The Honorary Dinner Co-Chairs included Representative Sue Kelly and Carolyn Maloney. Over 500 guests were in attendance for the dinner. The program included premier of Lifetime Television documentary "Stories of the Century".

A Tribute to American Leadership in the Global Fight to Eradicate Polio
Rotary International
Congressional Champions Reception
The reception was hosted by

  • the U.S. Coalition for the Eradication of Polio,
  • Rotary International,
  • The March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation,
  • The Task Force for Child Survival and Development,
  • The U.S. Committee for UNICEF,
  • and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Capitol Hill Lymphoma Advocacy Day
The Lymphoma Research Foundation of America (LRFA)
The day included:

  • a morning Legislative Workshop on Capitol Hill for LRFA members and lymphoma research advocates;

  • afternoon appointments for LRFA members with their Representatives and Senators;

  • and an evening Congressional reception honoring the 1999 recipients of the "Paul E. Tsongas Memorial Award", including Senators Arlen Specter and Tom Harkin, as well as Representatives Rick Lazio and Patrick Kennedy.



Dinner with President Clinton, Caroline Kennedy, Senator Edward M. Kennedy, and Yo-Yo Ma
The John K. Kennedy Library Foundation
Dinner/Fund-raising Event
JFK Library Foundation raised over $1 million. This event was a recreation of the occasion where Pablo Casals performed in the East Room of the White House on November 13, 1961. It was held at the Organization of American States Building in March 1998.
